    In creating these pieces I was inspired by a number of architectural and garden features of
    Japan and China although the clean, contemporary lines of the  pieces are more Western.

    The top of the table consists of a grid of Pacific Coast Big-Leaf Maple with a deep quilt
    figure set within a lattice of Sapele. The quilt is Amazing! The table reminds me of the
    beautiful way Asian cultures bring natural and architectural forms together.

    These pieces have a hand-rubbed lacquer finish to bring out the depth of the quilt and give
    the tops a satin smooth finish. The lacquer is resistant to water and alcohol and is easy to
    repair or refinish if the need arises.
